parent appreciation
Dear Parent,
Would you like to be a good parent coach for your child? Would you like to get in more exercise, get in shape and improve your overall health? Or even have you at some point in your life, ever wanted to learn karate so you could emulate Bruce Lee, Chuck Norris or Jackie Chan, you know those guys that are in the movies that have impressed you for so many years. Now is your chance to accomplish all of the above!
February is our Parent Appreciation Month. Which simply means any parent of a student enrolled in a regular course qualifies for the Gold Parent Appreciation course, that means you can take 8 weeks of any of our adult courses (Karate or Exec-U-Fit) absolutely free. All we ask is that you purchase your supplies (Karate $19.95 + tax, Exec-U-Fit 38.90 + tax).
Our goal is to provide you with enough training (8 weeks) that you will become knowledgeable on what your child is learning so you can become a valued coach for us to make home practice more meaningful. As well as help you through physical activity, improve your personal health and fitness and learn practical self-defense strategies.
We offer this special parent course semi-annually with this being the first one for this year.
It amazes me that when we have this special free parent course parents don’t take advantage of the opportunity. The objections generally are:
- “I don’t have time”: Most busy adults have a priority list. Some are actually written down some are sub-conscious. But on some level things are prioritized for time management. Usually people erroneously place their health strategies toward the middle or even at the bottom of the list. So when a person tells me they can’t find the time they are actually telling me that it is not very high on their personal priority list. Don’t let that happen to you because to function at peak levels you must be physically fit to have the energy level to maintain a professional pace whether it is in the work a day world or the stay at home mom who, by the way, is just as busy and pressured as any executive. Besides all that, all the studies I read of late say that over 60% of adults these days are overweight opening the door to all sorts of illnesses and disease.
- “I thought Karate was just for kids”, or “I’ll feel stupid not knowing what to do”: Our adult classes are geared toward the mature mind with a study guide “Lessons in Mindfulness”, that educates adult practioners on how to apply their training to their particular lifestyle. The course starts September 8th with everyone being at the beginning (freshman) level. The teachers are very attentive to all new parents in the class to insure everyone is comfortable with the experience. The children’s classes you have set in on and observed are taught to educate that age group. Our adult curriculum is taught differently like I said, to a more mature student.
- “I need to get in better shape before I try the class”: This course is geared to help develop your fitness level. Actually we would much rather you be totally out of shape to start therefore realizing the most important benefit that the training has to offer for an adult. The beginning classes are tailored for the inactive lifestyles, like I said we would be very attentive to your particular needs and or challenges that you may have.
Now is the time to be proactive with your child’s development as well as your own. Registration starts Monday, January 18th. Pick out your class time in either Karate or Exec-U-Fit. Together we can have a great start to the fall of the year.
Sincerely,
David Deaton
P.S. Over the last year (2009) 75% of the adults that graduated to Black Belt started in one of our Free Parent Classes.
And oh, by the way, if you are attending your two classes a week at the eight-week point you will be tested and could graduate to the Gold Belt!
This offer is for parents who have never taken either Karate or Exec-U-Fit classes before. |
